wcanoodle replied: "I do not know what your new doctor will do. There is an anti-inflammatory diet, but it requires changing your diet around considerably. It is based upon the premise that a certain diet causes less prostaglandins to be made and those are the chemicals that cause pain and inflammation (low protein, low fat, low sugar, etc).
Anti-Inflammatory Diet
To supplement anti-inflammatory nutrients while continuing to ingest pro-inflammatory substances is counter-productive. These dietary guidelines help reduce inflammation for most people.
1. Decrease or eliminate red meat and dairy products. Some arthritis patients also seem to react to poultry.
2. Decrease or eliminate refined sugar.
3. Eliminate caffeine (including coffee, black tea, cola drinks, and chocolate).
4. Eliminate any likely food allergens during the initial three or four weeks such as gluten grains, citrus fruit, and night shade vegetables (tomatoes, white potatoes, red and green peppers, eggplant, paprika, and tobacco). These foods can be added back into the diet one at a time (one new food every third day) while carefully observing the effect. Forms are available to make it easier to monitor the effect of these foods.
5. Drink plenty of pure water. Chlorine is an antibiotic and can diminish our friendly gut flora. Studies have associated chlorine in drinking water with increased risk of some types of cancer. It is probably best to drink at least a half hour before the meal and no sooner than a hour after so the digestive juices won't be diluted.
6. Increase your consumption of fresh, raw or lightly steamed fruits and vegetables. Good fruit choices include apples, bananas, grapes, mangoes, papayas, peaches, pears, prunes, kiwis, and other sub-acid fruits. Use discretion if the patient has blood sugar problems although fruit often does not cause a problem if the diet is low fat and high fiber. Good vegetables include asparagus, spinach, zucchini, parsley, artichoke (without the butter), kelp and other sea-veggies, okra, snow peas and many more. Cruciferous vegetables such as cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower as well as onions, chives, and peppers are very nutritious but may create digestive difficulties for some people. The solution is often simply chewing the food better and possibly adding supplemental digestive enzymes such as Metazyme or Beano. Spices such as garlic, tumeric, etc. are also very healthy and should be used regularly if well tolerated.
7. For snacks, consider raw vegetables, fruit, nuts and seeds. The fruits and veggies contain lots of enzymes, bioflavonoids, and other phytochemicals, while the raw nuts and seeds are rich in essential fatty acids, especially flax seed, pumpkin and sunflower seed, walnuts and almonds (almonds can be allergenic to some people). Raw seeds like sesame and flax need to be ground for proper digestion. An electric coffee grinder works well.
These healthy snacks can be combined e.g. raw vegetable sticks dipped in tahini (ground sesame seeds) or almond butter.
These suggestions are very helpful for most people with inflammatory conditions such as sprains, strains, bursitis, tendonitis, arthritis, etc. and can be used in conjunction with supplementation. Most people find that eating this way also often lowers blood lipids, smoothes out blood sugar variations, helps with weight management, reduces digestive problems, increases energy, and more. It is important to note that fats digest more slowly so when fat is reduced in the diet, we may become hungry sooner and be tempted to eat M&M's, corn chips, snack crackers, cookies, etc. This hunger is not a problem if we have prepared plenty of healthy snacks as mentioned above. Some people also use biofeedback, a type of self-hypnosis. You can buy cassette tapes or CDs to try.And there are light and sound mind machines that you can use to aid in biofeedback, astral travel, enlightenment...supposedly (I don't have personal knowledge of those). I have bought cassette tapes from Potentials Unlimited. Here are some links to info.
(pain relief self-hypnosis cassette tape on sale for $8.98 plus shipping) (pain relief self-hynosis CD$19.95 plus Shipping) (list of all tapes on sale)
I took off the other links to the proteus mind machine, because it seemed to be half price, but then it said it was extra for the eyeglasses, making it the same price without all the parts...so not a good buy. You can google it. I think it costs $349 in reality. Anything less is probably a trick."
Chas B replied: "Make a list of your medications
when, where, and wht type of pain you have.
Use this list while you are talking with your doctor so he better understands what you need mediction for and you don't leave out anything or forget to tell him anything which if you are like me you do often when in the doctors office
I've been in pain management for over 10 years and taking a list with me has been the best thing I have done for myself. They know exactly how I feel even if it was only for a minute or two, weeks ago. That way they know best how to address the problem.
Good luck"
gillianprowe replied: "Sorry I do not know! I have Rheumatoid Arthritis since 21 and three years ago a disc prolapsed in my spine. My Physician eventually sent me for a MRI, after we ruled out other problems like kidney stones, bladder stones and female bits problems. Once he saw the result of the MRI, he stuck me with a Fentanyl Patch and prescribed them for me. I am still on them and no they will not operate, so they are hoping in 10 to 15 years the Disc will dehydrate, normal process, back off the nerve roots. I was not planning on living that long with the RA, but they must think I will? The patch seems to be working well, except for the odd disc disco dance and then I loose my legs, end up in a wheelchair for a few weeks, 3 months. I did meet another lady who told me she has spinal injections, nerve block, because the Patch made her nauseated. I was vomitting for 3 whole days then got a injection to stop the nausea and have been fine since. Other people seem to have the same problem with the patch and give up, decide to go for the nerve block or implant? Pain is unfortunatley a perception, they cannot measure it, so it is up to the individual. To date I have not begged, cried, let alone rolled around the floor in agony. I tend to scream shout and swear at my Physician, but he knows when I am in pain! I reckon if I went to a Pain Doctor and behaved as I do with my Physician, the Pain Doc would probably think I was drug seeking. I have a 16 year same Physician relationship, so he knows me by now. Good Luck."
What are the risks and side effects of taking MDMA (Ecstasy) while on the following pre ion drugs:? OxyContin, oxycodone, Zanaflex, Ibuprofen, Soma, Neurontin, Depakote, Zantac, Butalbital, Zyrtec and Klonopin? I've already tried researching it on the web but unfortunately, I didn't have any luck getting the intelligent information that I'm looking for! Specifically, I need to know if it's safe to take MDMA (XTC) while simultaneously being on these pre ion drugs and what the possible risks and potential drug interactions may be. Thank you in advance for your assistance in answering this complex question!
kevdank replied: "generally speaking* VERY generally speaking* mdma shouldn't cause problems with presciprtions except anti-depressants and maoi ihnibitors. although that is a long list of pre ions and could be dangerous just because of the fact it puts so much stress on your brain dealing with all those chemicals."
Enomis replied: "Nope. It's not safe to take ecstasy at any time. When you buy ecstasy it's impossible to know how strong it is or the effect it's going to have on you.
With the amount of drugs you're already on I wouldn't be taking ANYTHING before consulting your doctor. Please correct me if I'm wrong but Depakote, Neurontin and Klonopin are anticonvulsants used for treating epilepsy. I certainly advise you not to take ecstasy if you have epilepsy or a history of seizures. With the amount of pain medicaton as well that you are on I would not be messing around taking ecstasy to add to all the stuff you're already putting in there."
Shelby C replied: "Klonopin might give you some unwanted effects, but I dont know any of the other's well enough to tell you. Ibuprofen shouldnt pose any type of problem either."

sondra replied: "My heart goes out to you as I am in constant pain also. I have 4 compression fractures in my back and I have sciatica and fibromyalgia. One of the things that helps my back and leg pain is Ben-Gay or any of the muscle rubs It does not totally stop the pain but it does give me some relief. The only thing I am not allergic to is tylenol #3. Try a muscle rub and see if that will help. My thoughts and prayers are with you!"
DARYL replied: "Hello there,
I am sorry your feeling this way. I jus recovered from chronic bronchitics. I have been having some pains on my right side ..intercostal muscule nerves..I have been on neurontin 400 mg and mobic 15 mg. I have only been on it for a few days but the pain goes when i use it. I am not sure how long it would take for the nerves to heal or get bk normal. I have several follow up checks ahead, We'd see how it goes. I got this problem from the severe coughing, how did you get this problem? I would keep u updated on my progress."
Is this a back problem or a sciatic/nerve problem? I hurt my several months ago. It was tight and hurt and I couldn't move real well. I could run forward but no real lateral movement. That was in March. It's now July and I'm doing much better BUT I can't figure out what it wrong. My MRI showed a slight bulge in the L-5 but nothing showing nerve bloackage. I had an XRAY by my chiro that said I have to do 'decompression' to restore fluid to that sac in my spine. That, too has seemed to help. I had an EMG done that showed:
Evidence of moderate, bilateral superficial peroneal and right saphenous sensory neuropathy, as well as EMG evidence of moderate chronic right S1 radiculopathy.
If I take 1-2 ibuprofen - I'm ok until it wears off. I'm also taking Neurontin (100 X 3-4 a day) and it seems to be helping as well.
HERE'S THE STRANGE PART--- I take Adderall for ADHD. When I stop taking it, the pain is not NEARLY as bad. When I DO take it, it hurts BAD in my knee and butt.
The original pain went away in my back. The pain I feel now is lower but still in my 'piriformis' (Exercise has helped this, as has intense stretching) and in my outside knee and in my foot. My big toe and top of my foot still tingle when I stand too long if not on ibuprofen. When I take ONE SINGLE DOSE of Adderall now it BURNS all up through my leg. I believe this to be dehydration, to which I am prone and what ADDerall does cause.
Has anyone heard of anything like this? Dehydration? Lower back pain disappears but the butt and knee and foot still sting.
I can tell ya this - I sit on an exercise ball at my computer and it has DONE WONDERS! My Lord, has it done wonders. Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone knows a time frame for an injury like this (Lifting weights ((Squats)) caused this) and if anyone has similar symptoms. Tha pain is manageable but it sometimes it stings all up my leg. However, it is nowhere near where it was a few months ago.
Any input to a newbie to these injuries would be great! Thanks so much.
Grenadine Pala replied: "Have you had any physical therapy? That may be helpful along with a scheduled pt plan. Pain and budging discs can sometimes last for years. A good orthopedic doctor can help get you on track."
Ankhesan amun replied: "I am not up on all the latest with these things - I've not been to my chiro for a number of months now, but I know exactly the pain you speak of!
For years I have battled issues with L5, and yes, it's a pain you don't quickly forget! I had the whole pain-in-the-butt thing happening after the initial injury, and when I am going to have problems, that tends to be how they present. A deep pain, in the butt, usually to the left, and it can take my legs out from under me in seconds!
One time my sister had to drag me through the grocery store, the cart between us, because I wasn't able to stand up or walk properly. Embarrassing? You bet. Painful? My gawd, yes! That's what I get for crouching down to check out the cheese bunker!
At that time I was under medical care for it, which did nothing. Most drugs didn't touch it, but I did find that the anti-inflammatory effects of Ibuprofen helped. Cold packs helped a bit too. True relief didn't arrive until I started seeing my first chiropractor, three times a week at first - for maybe two weeks, then once a week. With her help, I got my life back.
My most recent iffy thing has been with my piriformis muscle too! I was given exercises to do, which have helped out sooo much! Having a problem with it is hard to explain to someone who hasn't experienced it.
Have you thought about asking your chiropractor and MD about the Adderall? Chiro's usually have all sorts of resource materials - many will have a CPS manual where they can look up drugs and interactions so they know what their patients are taking and how their overall health is being affected. They could be a really helpful resource for you!
Good Luck!"
hwfiedler replied: "Sounds like a herniated disc with pressure and irritation of the nerves to the legs...what's called sciatica. You don't give your age...you might have some arthritis and spinal stenosis to boot. Keep up the exercises, especially for back and abdominal muscles.
Statistically, with and without treatment, disc problems resolve in about two years, but you'll feel better if you exercise. If you're concerned, see a Physiatrist, a medical doctor trained in these problems."
j4mie_crawford09 replied: "I think I can help you:
My mom recently had pretty much the same symptoms as you.All except the "stinging". Hers was much more of a just flat out pain. She was in agony and it only went away with asprin and laying down flat.
She went to several doctors and chiropractors and they all said the same thing..."physical therepy or surgery"
She chose surgery and is now recovering from a surgery on her siatic nerve..
I totally encourage you to ask your doctor if it is a siatic nerve problem because I've seen first-hand how painful it can be!"
Bud replied: "What you have sounds like a sciatic nerve problem. In the old days they called it sciatica or lumbago. If the intervertebral disc above or below the L5 vertebrae has been pinched (crushed, herniated) it would push against its capsule and and the spinal nerves. The sciatic nerve is usually involved when one of the lower lumbar discs has been crushed. You will have pain in your buttock (usually one side), radiating down your leg as far as your foot. This dpends on the exact nature of the of the pressure against the sciatic nerve by the disc. There are specific back exercises that a therapist (in consultation with your doctor) can give you. See It might explain why you have pain while you are taking the medication and why it stops after you have stopped taking it. Good luck"
Joy R replied: "It makes sense that taking adderall would make it worse for two reasons.
First of all, adderall does the opposite of neurontin. Neurontin is a central nervous system depressant, and adderall is a central nervous system stimulant.
Secondly, adderall can cause muscle tension, which may activate trigger points.
Have you had a therapeutic massage since the nerve pain started? If not, I'd definitely recommend it. It may not help, but it could make a HUGE difference. It's also possible that trigger points are causing or contributing to the misalignment of your spine.
Here's a fun site to check out if you're wondering about trigger point referral patterns.
Also check out for information specific to sciatic pain and trigger points. (I have this book btw, and it's really good.)"
Ton replied: "You have had lots of good advice sofar.
I just wanted to say that I too have the same problems with my Lumbar spine and have found Hydrotherapy/aquatherapy to be quite good at strengthening the core muscles and keeping the back mobile. The extra warm pool really made a difference too. Look for a physiotherapy place that offers these classes. You get a personalised program specific to your injury and a physio will overlook your rehab.
PIlls have done little to help. I rely heavily on my hotpack."
It feels like I have a fever but I don't think I do.? The last 2 or 3 nights, I have had to add more blankets because my arms are freezing (even to the point of having goosebumps) but my body (trunk, legs, even feet which are normally cold) are hot. I have a thermometer on my alarm clock and it says it's 76 F in here, which is pretty warm. I checked my blood glucose level and it is 90, so it's not diabetes. Poor circulation runs in my family.
Some background on me:
I am almost 23, female
I had my gall bladder removed when I was 16.
I had back surgery last November for a herniated disk. (lower back)
I was better for some time but then experienced more symptoms in March.
I've had 3 epidural steroid injections for my back (last one being in June)
I have nerve pain extending my my lower back on my right side down my right leg.
I have clinical depression.
I was recently in the hospital for a ruptured hemorrhagic ovarian cyst.
I have trouble sleeping.
I feel tired most of the day, even when I get adequate sleep.
I have restless sleep.
I have a hard time concentrating (this is almost always, and most likely from the depression)
I recently had a tingly/numb feeling in my left thumb which lasted a few days.
I have a general feeling of acheyness all over.
Medications:
Wellbutrin XL 150 mg 1/day (for the depression)
Neurontin 300 mg Every 8 hours (nerve pain)
Ibuprofen 200 mg Every 8 hours (back pain)
Allegra D at night
I am on day 10 of the NuvaRing for the ovarian cysts.
I am concerned that this may be causing the symptoms, as I am worried about blood clots.
I do not smoke, and I don't drink very often and haven't had a drink in over 2 months.
I tried to provide as much information as possible. Thank you in advance for your time and answers.
It is now feeling like a burny sensation on my arms almost like I had been lifting weights or something, in addition to feeling cold. My buttocks is also cold to the touch now.
Elaine replied: "Check if you have a vitamin B12 deficiency. The signs are fatigue and depression."
MRI Report, herniated disc, bulges, arthritis, ...how bad? This is my mri report June 3rd. Just want to know how bad do you think this report is?? Mild, Moderate, Severe?? I'm 38 years old. Have 5 sisters, 5 brothers, and my mom. No one else in the family has arthritis, nor spinal problems.
A Nuerosurgeon is going to give me an epidural injection on July 15th for C6-7. I've never had any of these done before. How bad do these hurt??
The doc prescribed Neurontin & Tramadol for pain. The Neurontin is take 1 capsule twice/day and 2 @ bedtime. (300mg).
The Tramadol is take 1 to 2 tablets every 6 hours. (50mg.)
I also have been prescribed Ibuprofen 800mg., use when needed.
I feel the meds do not help for pain, or stiffness (especially in the a.m. when I wake up).
REPORT:
Small herniated disc C5-6, with some mild bulges at C4-5 and C6-7.
Minimal Arthritis.
HNP (L) C5-6 (Herniated Nucleus Pulposus=(Slipped disc).
(L) C6 radiculopathy= (Nerve Root Damage).
Mild DJD Cervial Spine= (Degenerative Joint Disease)
Shelita replied: "It's not too bad. Hopefully the ESI will give you some relief. It may take up to 3 to get the maximum effect, but not needed. Just one might do the trick. I won't lie to you, they do hurt some, as any needle would. You will have to have someone to drive you to the procedure and back home. It is also recommended that you take it easy for at the least 24-36 hours after your injection.
How do I know, I am 42, have herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, and OA, at C4-5, C6-7 & T1-2, also at L3-4 & L5-S1. Have had many, many ESI's at all of the above s with very good results(well, in the beginning they did). I say that because I have been getting ESI's for the last 8+ years. Its like my body has gotten use to them. I currently take 900mg Neurontin, 3 times a day. Daypro(NSAID) 600mg, twice a day and Skelaxin 800mg 3 times a day. I have a very, very low tolerance for MOST pain meds, they don't/won't stay down, lucky me.
Good luck and I hope you have good results.
Oh yeah, make sure that the doc who is doing the injection is using Floroscopy during the procedure. A floroscopy is a x-ray machine that helps guide the of the injection."
Nurse CJ Rotelle replied: "This is mild to moderate.
1. Cervical disc herniations and bulges are somewhat normal these days. With bad posture, sitting at computers, lifting, etc. the discs dry up and they pop out of the spine. Sometimes they lean on the nerve and cause pain down the shoulder arm and into the hand. Your age, 38, is an average age for the onset of pain with these problems. What are your symptoms? Headache, neck pain, arm pain, twitching? I have all of these. I am 32 and have all of the above, plus stenosis which is narrowing of the spine. I have had this for 3 years and I am fine - have not had surgery.
2. EPIs. They do not hurt. You will go to your pain management center and you will be given an IV. Choose IV sedation (it is not general anesthesia, it is a sedative that makes you really sleepy and out of it for about 10 minutes. The doctor uses an Xray and inserts the steroid into the bad discs and around the nerve. You will wake up, have a coke or juice and go home. Someone will have to drive you. I have had 5 in the last two years and one time, I had pressure and pain afterward and a bit of a headache. Then you will rest all day. You may feel a flare up, but within a week you will should feel better. Sometimes doctors prescribe the injections of series of 3. 1 every 2 weeks. This is normal. The injection itself is not painful. However, if they give you a faccet joint injection, that is painful. It's quick, but it hurts bad for about 10 seconds. It sound like you will have medicine right into the disc(s)
3. Neurontin works for some people. It did not work for me and lyrica was a much better option. This medicine is for nerve pain. Since you have the tramadol and ibuprofin for pain, I would advise you to lay off of alcohol or anything toxic, for the sake of your liver. If the ibuprofin is not working, then this is probably nerve pain and will take some time to subside with the injections and possibly later a stronger pain medication.
4. Your physicians will watch you. If this worsens, often time, surgery is the best option. But trust me, as someone with disc disease much worse than yours, I have found ways to deal with my pain. Ask about physical therapy, it may help. But I warn you, with all of my medical knowledge, DO NOT GO TO A CHIROPRACTOR. Chiropractors can and will make this worse for you and possibly cause nerve damage or further rupturing of the disc. If anyone tells you to go to a chriopractor, run, run, run to your neurosurgeon.
5. And the good news?! Sometimes these bulges pop back in. I don't see any central canal issues, so you might have good luck. Or it may get worse. You are young and will find a way to get thorugh this. This is a structural problem. It is not a disease, it is not life threatening and it is not fatal. You will have to manage it like a chronic medical condition. This means to be careful with your neck. No jarring! No rollercoasters, no skiing!
Some helpful sites are:
healthboards.com (search on spinal cord disorders)
Spineuniverse.com
spine-health.com
These are good sites. Feel free to email me if you have any questions. I have and am going through this. Get some support because it's scary at the beginning. But you will be fine and functional.
Sometimes the meds do not work well and for most of us, the early a.m. is the worst for the pain. Give it some time.
Good luck and take care."
Iron replied: "Not bad but the treatment is not the medications you are on.
You need cervical traction.
Epidural is not indicated!
What are your symptoms?"
Chronic headaches? I am just wondering - I have had almost daily headaches for a long time - around 5 years. I have had a full workup with MRI, CT, all normal. I have tried Neurontin, Topamax, Tramadol, antidepressants (which I still take), acupuncture, chiropractic, and of course Tylenol, ibuprofen, Aleve, which don't work at all. The only meds that take the headaches away are Vicodin, Percocet, etc. My doctor doesn't want to give me those because she thinks at one point they were causing rebound headaches. I recently was given some for a dental procedure and it was wonderful to have a break from the headache pain also. It doesn't take much, only one or two a day. Is there something I am missing? The only other thing I haven't tried is exercise, which I hate. I have trouble believing that this would help with headaches anyway. Anyone out there who has had chronic headaches, and can give me an idea of what helped for them? I am a 44 F.
Thanks - Aleve is the brand name for naproxen, tried it.
What's the theory about fresh garlic? Also, do you mean push in between my eyebrows or in the middle of one of them?
rnbdiva1969 replied: "it could be your diet. try eating healthier. less caffeine. and exercise would make it better. wat about naproxine?"
needtheinfo replied: "try drinking plenty of water, eat fresh garlic, try kava kava (calms you) and st. johns wort (mood enhancer), you can find it at any herbal store."
Joe J replied: "feel your eyebrow for a small depression (right about in the middle there) push a finger there and maintain pressure for awhile. it works better if you can get someone else to do this for you. also, an old trick i learned when i was a kid, put your hand on something ( a chair, dashbord, tree, desk...etc) and visualize the pain flowing down your arm and hand into the ........just in the middle of each eyebrow you will find a depression."
~Joy~ replied: "My Mom gets headaches almost daily too. My sister and I also get headaches at least once or twice a week, sometimes more often. The only thing that has ever took my headaches away is Excedrin Migraine and Extra Strength Excedrin (These two are the same exact medicine, you can check the label). My sister and Mom take it also. This medicine is not good on the liver and should probably not be taken everyday. I think mine starts as sinus and goes into a full blown migraine at times. If I take the Excedrin at the first sign of my head hurting, it almost always gets rid of the headache. We always drink a cup of coffee after taking it. The caffeine is said help the medicine to work faster. I hope you feel better. ~Joy~"
pre ion drug question- serious? how dangerous is it for someone who has diabetes and is on insulin, and 2 sugar pills, plus takes neurontin for neurpathy, to take pain meds several times a day, EVERY DAY?? I have headaches alot and my feet and legs kill me, so i take pain meds, plus aspirin and tylenol and ibuprofen, aleve, exedrin, whatever i may have. am I just ruining my liver or could I have aheart attack and die?? Is it ok to eat chocolate and junk food, then take extra insulin or sugar pills so ur sugar don't get really high? Can I die from that?? I do that alot and it scares me but i do it anyway. Please, maybe a doctor or someone trained in medicine - please tell me if I could die or if what i do all the time is really ok, I am 29 and fat. My chest hurts alot, sharp pains and dull achy pains, i have a heart murmur that I know about, and a rapid heart beat, sometimes it feels like someone is sitting on me and I cant breathe, I do have panic attacks tho. the chest pains happen mostly when I'm resting
Titties replied: "How dangerous is it for someone who has diabetes and is on insulin, and 2 sugar pills, plus takes neurontin for neurpathy, to take pain meds several times a day, EVERY DAY??
-It is dangerous whether or not you're on other medications or have diseases. Do not ever take more than the dosage that the pain bottle recommends. This can and will damage your organs and can result in death.
Am I just ruining my liver or could I have aheart attack and die??
-Not necessarily, depends how many you take and how often you take them. Take the pills as directed and you'll be alright. Also, asprins prevent heart attack, thats something to consider.
Is it ok to eat chocolate and junk food, then take extra insulin or sugar pills so ur sugar don't get really high? Can I die from that??
-NO! It is horrible and you cannot do that. Follow what your doctor says to avoid ending up in the hospital, very ill. You can die from what it can do to your body.
Talk to your doctor about all of this and symptoms you are having in case you already have an undiscovered health problem."
Diane N replied: "see your doc, and get a handle on what your pain comes from before you self treat."
Emyline Yvonne replied: "That is not the way to control your blood sugar level. Diabetes patient is having a lot of stress because you can't take whatever you like. Don't take pain killer as you like it. Is dangerous for your stomach. I'm not scaring you. Is true. I'm working with health site. You might have heart problem because you have murmur. Consult a physician please. Don't try to be smart. You are still very young. You should have a bright futher. Tell your doctor about your health problem, let him/her help you to over come your problem."
Marissa replied: "YES! WHAT YOU ARE DOING IS RISKING YOUR LIFE SEVERELY!! IF YOU KEEP UP THE CURRENT BEHAVIOR YOU WILL DIE. TAKING TOO MANY OVER THE COUNTER MEDS IS DANGEROUS. TOO MUCH TYLENOL WILL DESTROY YOUR LIVER, AND MOTRIN, IBUPROFEN, ALEVE, AND EXCEDRIN ARE ALL NSAIDS, WHICH CAN CAUSE DIGESTIVE PROBLEMS SUCH AS ULCERS. YOU SHOULD NEVER NEVER NEVER TAKE EXTRA INSULIN BECAUSE YOU WANT TO EAT JUNK FOOD!! YOU HAVE NEUROPATHY BECAUSE YOU HAVE NERVE DAMAGE FROM YOUR DIABETES. FROM THE SOUNDS OF IT YOU PROBABLY HAVE DIABETES BECAUSE YOU ARE OVERWEIGHT. IF YOU LOST WEIGHT YOU WOULD SEE A DRAMATIC LESSENING IN YOUR MEDICAL PROBLEMS!!! THE HEADACHES, PAIN IN YOUR LEGS, AND FEET, AND CHEST PAIN ALL COULD BE CAUSED BY YOUR DIABETES, OR THEY COULD BE WARNING SIGNS OF SOMETHING MORE SERIOUS, LIKE BLOOD CLOTS OR EMOLISMS. AND HAVING A RAPID HEART RATE AND RESPIRATORY DISTRESS WHEN YOU ARE RESTING IS A VERY SERIOUS SYMPTOM, THAT COULD BE INDICATIVE OF MANY THINGS. GO TO A DOCTOR.....TODAY..NOW..DO NOT WAIT. YOU COULD DIE, AND YAHOO ANSWERS IS NOT WHERE YOU SHOULD GET YOUR MEDICAL ADVICE FROM. AS A PERSON WHO HAS WORKED IN THE HEALTH CAR FIELD FOR 9 YEARS, I AM TELLING YOU GO TO A DOCTOR, HOSPITAL OR SOME FORM OF MEDICAL CARE PROVIDER. PLEASE."
Lea replied: "For a diabetic, you are not on that many medications.
You should pick only one OTC pain medication to be on at a time. I would prefer you take no more than 2 g of Tylenol a day. Aspirin is also okay to take, and in fact, is recommended for older diabetics (older than 40) to take every day. Naproxen and Ibuprofen should be avoided because you are already at risk for kidney disease. Avoid Excredin because it has caffeine in it and you are already having a racing heart.
In time, you will be placed on a statin and anti-high blood pressure medications, probably an ACE inhibitor.
